What Inspired Us
The Untimely Dissolution of the Kenya National Convention Bureau ( KNCB ), Rwanda MICE Tourism Strategy, Semi-Professional Kenyan labor market and Declarations from the Global Mice Summits which championed for heightened stakeholder coordination and Lack of information sharing in the MICE Sector. To date, there is no baseline survey done and Open Source Industry information that derails Innovations.

Industry Players Rely on international Organization research findings and trends for decision making e.g ICCA,EIC
- Industry Associations are not as vibrant enough and are highly restrictive to its membership e.g EMAK, EOK, AKBE
- Business Owners rely on their industry peers for information and Industry WhatsApp groups.
- MICE Suppliers are not Investing more in Content Marketing only the audio-visual and Venues carry a large share
of the industry engagements e.g. Stagepass AV, Sarit Centre. Social Media is the most used medium followed by
websites. - There is a huge gap between the MICE Industry players and academia, Most students pursuing MICE Related courses
are not readily absorbed by the industry while the industry does not leverage on the Student’s thesis on MICE. - MICE Experts are not active in the public domain & limelight and thus are hard to engage for Technical Knowledge
transfer e.g. TUK, Boma Institute. - There are no locally led research initiatives from industry players due to the withholding of industry information and data.
- The MICE Industry is highly fragmented and Operates in Isolation. The Hotel and Transport players have their own
associations despite both having a central role in the mice space. - Sectors highly fragment existing Industry information thus there is a dire need to consolidate the information
to a central repository which the MICE Diary envisages. - There is a huge Gap on the B2B MICE content that needs to be filled to spur industry growth and innovation, Most information available targets end consumers B2C rather than Peer to Peer.
